    Huntington is governed by a mayor, six council members,
    a Municipal Court Judge and a Justice of the Peace.

    ~~~CITY SERVICES~~~
    Huntington's law enforcement is provided by a City Marshal. Rural areas are served by Oregon State Police and the Baker County Sheriff's Department.Emergency services are provided by volunteer ambulance and fire department personnel.

    ~~~EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES~~~
    Huntington established its high school in 1900, adopting the "Unified" plan. Its teams have set a state record for winning in its class, with state championships in football in 1968, 1969, 1970 and 1971. Huntington Public Schools include Kindergarten through High School. Huntington further promotes continuing education with the support of a Public Library.
