Known as Oregon's most notorious "bad" town, Copperfield was closed under martial law by the Governor.
Located in the Panhandle 75 miles Northeast of Baker City, Copperfield was established in 1908 to house the mining crews working on the Snake River.
The community was later totally destroyed by fire.
